The region just above Taormina, while in close proximity to a popular resort town, maintains an authentic charm untouched by large-scale tourism. My recent four-day visit offered a captivating immersion into this world, encompassing explorations of vineyards, visits to local trattorias, and strolls through charming black-stone mountain villages. The area is particularly enchanting in autumn, during the grape harvest, offering a blend of natural beauty and cultural richness.
